Mice, rats and occasionally even squirrels, love to set up shop in our attics, crawl spaces, chimneys, vehicles and just about any other place where they can keep warm in the winter. Every type of rodent is capable of creating a real problem that can get out of control quickly. They chew our stuff up, contaminate our food supplies, poop and pee just about everywhere they go, make weird noises in the middle of the night, and can chew into the electric wiring in your home or car, causing a possible fire hazard. And procreate. A lot. 1 mouse can turn into a family of 50 in a very short period of time if they have the food, water and shelter they need and are left alone to do their thing. Their lifespan can be up to two years or more, depending on what species of rodent we're dealing with. Rodents are also carriers and vectors for several diseases, including:

Info About Rodent Control:
Mouse Control:
Both the house mouse and the field mouse will invade our homes and business's. They are truly great explorers and will investigate just about every square inch of their territory, which is typically about 50 feet or so from the nest. The female will have anywhere from 5 - 10 litters of 6 - 8 pups per year. Do the math: 5 x 6 = 30 minimum offspring per year from each female. Generally speaking, we need to trap and remove the intruding mice and screen off or otherwise exclude future visitors from getting into the same areas.
Rat Control:
There are more species of rats in the White Mountains than there are of mice. Their territory is quite a bit bigger, too - up to 300 feet from the nest. And they procreate at an alarming rate: each female will have anywhere from 10 - 20 litters of 8 - 12 pups per year. The math? 10 x 8 = 80 minimum offspring per year per female. Wow! Although the approach we need to take as far as trapping is concerned is a bit different per species, control will usually boil down to trapping, removing and exclusion work as it is for mice.
Squirrel Control:
Solving a squirrel problem can some times be a bit trickier that mice or rats. It depends on the species and exactly what they are doing. Are they getting into a structure, keeping birds away from bird feeders in the yard, chewing up or otherwise damaging our stuff or just making a lot of noise or a big mess? Usually the use of a live animal trap and/or some sort of repellent is warranted for squirrel control. If they are getting into a structure, exclusion work may need to be done, too. In general terms, squirrels don't cause quite the same kind of problem as mice or rats. They have 1 or 2 litters of 3 - 9 pups per year, per female, so the math isn't quite as bad: 1 x 3 = 3 minimum offspring per year, per female. They do live longer, tho - up to two years for some species.
